One learned very early not to ask questions.
Another spent years calling care the very thing that kept her trapped.
Some raised their children while trying not to disappear from themselves. They worked, provided, forgave and began again so many times that they could no longer say in which of those moments they had been most courageous.
Some left. Others stayed until they understood that leaving was possible too. Many went through life without knowing the name of what was happening to them — yet found, within themselves, quiet ways to resist.
They did not live the same story. Perhaps they never met. Even so, when their voices draw close, something is revealed: what had long seemed like an individual fate was also part of the experience of many.
These stories do not begin here yet.
Here begins only the moment when silence realises it will be heard.
